200K Brevet: Austin --> Johnson City --> Austin
Yesterday I completed my second 200K brevet with the Hill Country Randonneurs.
I didn't think that it was possible, but the temperature was actually colder than the first brevet in Georgetown. 14 degrees at the start!! We had one of the hottest summers on record last year, and now we're having one of the coldest winters this year.
I was better prepared for the cold this time because I had all of my old New England winter riding gear on. Good thing I kept everything.
It was still cold though...!
Thankfully it was not windy and we had a nice sunny day.
We started the brevet with a long "Dam Loop" which is a regular ride for me here in Austin. Then we heading out to Johnson City and back via country roads.
PB&J tasting pretty good at the control stop in Johnson City...
Stats from the ride: Ride time - 8hr 39min, 127.5 miles w/8,525 feet of elevation gain!
Definitely looking forward to the 300K in February!
